BELISSIMA: the second extension

The BELISSIMA project has been extended by the European Commission for the second time for an additional year: the duration of the project is now 72 months which means that BELISSIMA will be concluded on June 30, 2016. The reason for the extension is the delay of the delivery of the main mirror of the 1.40 m of the telescope to be mounted at the Vidojevica Astronomical Station.

The Management Board of the BELISSIMA project expresses its sincere gratitude to the Project Officer Dr. Grzegorz Ambroziewicz and the Head of Unit, Dr. Dimitri Corpakis of the European Commission for their help and understanding.

The Management Board of BELISSIMA also thanks the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, especially Dr. Aleksandar Belić, state secretary, Dr. Viktor Nedović, Deputy Minister of International Cooperation and European Integration and Ms. Željka Dukić, senior adviser, the FP7 and H2020 country coordinator in the Sector for international collaboration and European integration for their help.  Finally, the Management Board also thanks Dr. Antun Balaž, the Chairman of the Board of the Directors of the Astronomical Observatory of Belgrade for his help with the second extension of BELISSIMA.
