ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATORY, BELGRADE

within the FP7 REGPOT project "BELISSIMA",

announces an

EXECUTIVE MEETING:

"NETWORK OF TELESCOPES IN THE WESTERN BALKANS REGION"

to be held on 27^th and 28^th of September, 2010,

in the city of PROKUPLJE, SERBIA.

• Within the next three years the Astronomical Observatory in Belgrade will complete the purchase and construction of new robotic 1.5m telescope "Milankovic", to be placed on Astronomical Station Vidojevica, near Prokuplje, Serbia. The purpose of this executive meeting is to gather a group of international experts who are interested in the design, the performance and future scientific role of medium size robotic observatories in the Western Balkans region. The one-day discussion will be informal, oriented towards creating an overview of current efforts and future prospects at medium sized robotic observatories in Europe. On the second day of the meeting we will organize a short excursion to the site of the future "Milanković" telescope.
  

• We expect to have a number of guests from astronomical institutions in Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, Croatia, Spain, Germany and other. Participation is by invitation only. Lodging and meals will be provided and we will also be able to offer a refund of travel expenses to a certain limit. Extra hotel arrangements will also be made for participants traveling back after the last day of the meeting. Pick-up/Drop-off arrangements will be made at Belgrade airport, and other locations (train, bus stations) as needed.
