THE VISIT OF DR ZACH IOANNOU TO AOB
Astronomical Observatory of Belgrade (AOB) was honored to host from March 28th to April 2nd 2011 the Greek colleague Dr. Zach Ioannou from Thessaloniki who came to Belgrade after the invitation of the BELISSIMA project. Dr. Ioannou is one of the creators of the Astronomical Station Orliakas, municipality Grevena and he has already collaborated with the BELISSIMA project: he participated in the executive meeting held in Prokuplje in September 2010 (his presentation is here.)
This time Dr. Ioannou came for two reasons: to help with the writing of the technical documentation regarding the construction and purchasing of the telescope "Milanković" and scientific collaboration with the Astronomical Observatory. He gave a very well attended talk at AOB with the title “Properties & Observations of Interacting Binary Stars”. The whole presentation (in pdf) can be accessed here.
