Serbian-Italian Astronomical Workshop

With the mounting of the 1.40 meters "Milankovic" telescope procured using the funds of the European Commission and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia the observational astronomy in Serbia has gained a new momentum which provides the possibility of participation of Serbian scientists in the cutting-edge observational projects. In the collaboration with the Embassy of Italy, within the activities of the Association of Italian and Serbian Scientists and Scholars (AIS3), the Astronomical Observatory of Belgrade organizes on October 31st 2017 (Tuesday) one-day workshop in Belgrade. The purpose of the workshop is to discuss in collaboration with the prominent astronomers from Italy, who will come to Belgrade for this meeting, the future observing projects, as well as to share the experiences related to various astronomical observations, and other astronomical and technical and computational possibilities which include the usage of astronomical instruments, reductions, storage and analysis of the observing material. Within the available time slots the discussions about various theoretical/computational models related to the future observations from Vidojevica will be organized.

During the meeting, Rector of the Belgrade University Prof. Dr. Vladimir Bumbasirevic and Prof. Dr. Remo Ruffini will sign an agreement of cooperation between the University of Belgrade and ICRAnet (International Center for Relativistic Astrophysics Network). ICRAnet is an International Organization and its members are four States and three Universities and Research Centres: the Republic of Armenia, the Federal Republic of Brazil, the Republic of Italy, the Vatican City State as well as the University of Arizona (Tucson, USA), Stanford University (USA) and ICRA.
